Here is a great search bot that will help you to perform search on Google, Yahoo and MSN search engine without opening an window and right from your instant messenger.

Thanks to HN Prashanth from Tech Bangalore who created this bot and was featured on DNA newspaper as well. This cute search engine bot will help you to search items without opening a new window.

So to perform a search or to bring the search engine results right on your instant messenger chat box, add these using the “Add contact” feature on your IM.

  • On Google Talk - Add sbot@bot.im
  • On Yahoo Messenger - Add searchbot@ymail.com
  • On MSN Live Messenger – Add searchbot@live.com

Once you’ve added it, searching is quite easy. Just use g + keyword for searching in Google search engine as shown.

  • Search Google - Send g<space>search term
  • Search Bing - Send b<space>search term
