Yo! Exams dropping in but I am far more concerned in leveraging this website’s traffic and increase the content quality with my own personal touch on ‘em. I’ve lots of plans with this blog! Seriously, I do. But nothings gonna work until and unless I start working on my goals right?
So, here is my random scribbling with Bangaloreloka goals. Why this post you might wonder? Well.. just to keep me motivated and if you look into this blog history you will come to know I am assertive (Read: A-hole. Yes, the British slang)! At the same time, I am confident enough to bring traffic to this website as well as share tons of things.. so normally we call this as an win-win situation.
The Screwed up History
This website had major ups and downs. When it started in Sept. 2008 – I was very much interested as it was my first local blog. Slowly things started drifting sideways and I was constrained with this website. Don’t ask me the reason.. I just hated it 
To my disdain the hosting server expired as well, who cared for backing up database? Certainly not me but then, however, I retrieved this website database and got it hosted on a reputable hosting company shelling out 7$ per month from my paypal which already lacked the moolah’s. So, I was like..
After 2 months, I realized what’s the use of having an website with 20 pages of content and no money at all? So, I dropped the idea of actively working on the website. Here again, the act of clumsiness comes into play and I was very much busy with other things that I finally posted few articles in this site and cancelled the hosting for saving some bucks. Yes, dead again!
Fixing the screwed up part
Then I started creating other websites and with time I got around 2-3 hosting accounts with me, my mind rustled in my ears – Hey idiot - why not bring this site up? So, I teamed up with my friends and worked on this website (again).
As expected, nothing worked. I left blogging but whenever I got that mood in me, I made 5-10 articles in a day or two and scheduled them evenly.. luckily people found ‘em useful and when I logged into this website after few weeks I found tons of comments with appreciation – Here is where the motivating animal in me was evoked; given a new life and now I am back to live up to everyone’s expectation + work on this blog extensively.
My goals for 2010.. Let’s Start with the first month
I actually love to write and I am quite a speedy writer, maybe because I am good at scribbling (The exam effect you see ). I promise to write good number of posts in this three months of 2010 year. Moreover, I would like to make small goals and let me see if I can really achieve anything.. so here are my goals for this month of January 2010..
- Alexa Rank – Chuck it.. who cares?
- Pageviews by January – 1000 per day
- Write at least 60 articles in January.
- Comment on blogs.
- Proof read posts.. I suck at this. It’s boring!
Currently, the traffic for this website is around 300-400 page views everyday and I learnt one of my biggest mistake was not to comment on blogs as my interaction was very low (Blame the busy schedules) But, I am planning to make link love posts, link some great bloggers and be an active bee around the web.
Eh, wow.. I just checked the word count tool in windows live writer (a pretty handy software for publishing blog posts from your slow desktop) and I have already managed to write 600 words in this post. Tthis took me just 25-30 40 min! Talk about addiction.. this is my enthusiasm towards the blogging. Cheers! Have a nice time ahead... 2010 should be rocking in everyway!

Good looking set of goals you got there. 60 posts is ambitious but I’m rooting for you.
As for Alexa, although the system does have its flaws, it is still a good measuring stick to track progress. Reasonably, breaking 100k can be done in about six months, shorter if a lot of time is spent promoting the site.
If you actually get those 60 articles up in January and participate/comment on other blogs, I’m sure you’ll hit 100k by mid-March.
Right now the ranking is at 688,000 and I do agree with you that alexa acts as a measure of tracking but there are people who have above 100k ranking and make lump sum of money easily. (Atleast more than me)
I am concentrating on content and promoting the posts… alexa ranks will take care of itself and I will try to reach both 100k pageviews and 100k ranking by March
Let’s see..
For new, seasoned and even pro bloggers, keeping blog content interesting and relevant can be a challenge. By talking to your readers and trying to respond to them right away helped motivate me to keep on blogging. It’s all about your readers. Wish you the best and good luck with your goal. Thanks Shivaraj, I wish that I will reach the goals by Jan 20th and my capabilities says I can. Just need to stick on the web a few extra hours and network around so I get consistent traffic and motivation from you guys..

I guess you got it wrong. You referred ‘by blogging’ as ‘my blogging’.. Yes, I do make income by blogging and you can do this too.. just slap some quality content and ad network codes

Your blogging plan doesnt appear bad. But just don’t be disheartened if it does not go as per you wished! It happens that we don’t work as per planning, leading to small things remaining to be done..

You are exactly right.. the plans might tumble.. especially in the traffic part but I will definitely work on 60 articles.. and the rest depends on the search engine GOD’s..
