Frequent Power Cut in Bangalore. What to do?

This is yet another random cribbing about the frequent power cut in Bangalore. Yes, as an Bangalore blog, we ought to cover Bangalore news and “power cut” is more of an issue than a mere news for us. Man, why do we have so many power cuts in Bangalore?? Screw 'em (You know who)

Sometimes, the power cut is from 10am to 11am morning in Bangalore areas. Again, god knows why, the power supply goes dead at 12 noon and comes back at 12:50pm.. I mean to say -- there is no standard timings of power cut too. And, I don’t even have the UPS to save my live work that I do on my computer. Oh well… that's me after the inhuman power cut (apart from the baldness)

power cut bangalore Frequent Power Cut in Bangalore. What to do?

This is an expected exhibition these days.. so here are the things I do, which can be implemented by you too so as to avoid getting bored where there is power cut.

Get up late :P - I do this. I try to wake up at 11am.. some of the bad days is when power cut happens at 11am itself.. Damn!

Have a bath – I eagerly wait for the power cut and when it happens at 10am, I go in for a bath. Usually bathing takes maximum 30 min, but when there is a power cut, I try to spend exact 1 hour in the bathroom :D

Get your laptop charged – Very important. In any case, I always make sure to charge my laptop. Bad times is when the wire is loosely plugged into the switch :( Today was such a day..

Music on mobile – Ah! This one always makes me feel dynamic. I have more than 200 songs on my mobile phone and it’s always completely charged ;)

Be a narcissist - See yourself in the mirror :D

  • I go to sleep when there is a power cut! Its always good to sleep for 2 hours + 2 hours daily during power cuts!

  • Dude, I take everything positively in life. I would use that time to create some creative ideas to produce humor, as my blog needs lot of fun stuff.

Hahahahahaha funny ideas.. Shift your location to Chennai > no power cuts :)

  • And I thought only I suffer from power cuts.

  • lastain says:

I guess that little better with you. In my case, I got only 5 hours in a day to blog. Reason being the power cuts and the scheduled load shadings I had in my place.

I can’t get how this is happening, but it continues for the whole year. Man, this is kind of frustrating, but no way out. Even the portable power supplied I had can’t give power all the time without getting recharged.

So, I wake up at 5 in the morning, blog till 7 (If lucky but usually upto 6 only), then again at 9 till 12. If lucky, I may blog at night like today, but it’s very much uncertain, can’t depend. That’s how I blog. :(

6 hrs of power cut in Bangalore…ridiculous. Have you ever wondered where all these power is going?? It is being diverted or smuggled to light up Chinnaswamy Stadium for the IPL matches. On one end IPL talks about going green by giving cheap tips to public on the other end they never play under natural lights. We already have power crisis, just imagine if IPL is conducted every year….what is going to happen to us in future???

I strongly believe that we should boycott IPL being played under these power guzzling flood lights.

  • Nimmy says:

Hi Sir, we are facing irresistable power cut problems, yesterday 18.05.2010 from night 10pm till morning 6 pm no power near babusapalya, flowergarden I & II Cross where as the other cross where having power supply. If the transformer bursts it should affect all the other cross too.

We keep calling the babsapalya office they either keep the phone disconnected or in silence mode next day when we call they say we did not receive any call, is there any solution for all these problems. These areas no proper roads, no water supply at all no garbage collection or cleaning they have appointed 2 – 3 old ladies they dont have strength or they sit near the tea shops. We have very good govt.

Very bad service at these areas, only they respond to posh ares and near their residents what about the poor and needy people should do no power supply, no water children should study and so many problems.

MOTHERFUCKING SON OF A BITCH BESCOM !! BLOODY BASTARDS!! CUTTING 5-6 HOURS OF POWER!!! FUCK YOU BITCHES!!!

  • John says:

How sad is this situation when the only mention of it is in a blog? No mention of it in TV news, newspapers. Mind boggling. Is the public as apathetic as the incompetent, unqualified, ignorant, corrupt truckload of clowns in charge of our electrical supply? Are local news agencies discouraged from reporting on it?
HOW can the people in charge not have been thrown out of office ages ago? HOW do they keep their jobs? Do they pay government off? Lord knows Bescom’s got the depth of pocket for it, having enjoyed a monopoly-stranglehold on Bangalore’s power supply for waaay too long, particularly judging the results. “Oh yeah, we’re working on it – like we have been for years now – we’re planning a meeting next week to discuss the problem. We hope to come up with tentative, visionary, pie in the sky solutions that we can then plan another meeting about, perhaps series of meetings, a month or so afterwards, maybe later. First though we’ll have to have a meeting to discuss whether we’re actually accountable to our customers. Regardless of the outcome of that meeting, we do want people to know we are seriously enjoying their money. We would also caution citizens none of this is to suggest any concrete steps to rectify the problem will be taken, but do rest assured we’re looking into it”.
HOW much further proof is required to see that these idiots don’t know, or even care, what the fck they’re doing?

  • John says:

Just replied measuredly to the ongoing situation, Nimmy. Like the power, comment was cut. Personal opinion, spinelessness deserves what it gets.

  • Rash says:

We are such a shame. Whats the point with India’s GDP growth shooting more than US GDP of 3.4%, We still have no basic infrastructure. Had it not been for the blessed climate of India, we would have frozed to death, if we were europe or USA, with the kind of power cuts we have. We must barge into the houses of our noble politicians, and beat them up…or start living in their homes. Or must make them stand naked in the hot sun. Our CM is just good for nothing. we are ashamed that a bunch of jokers are running the show and we are all a bunch of fools to elect them. What happened to all the IITians and all the good innovators and lead business men like mallya, ambanis, mittals and bharathis? Why cant we use talent to solve the power problem? why cant we really tap the solar power? why cant we privatise a bit of this whole thing? Oh damm!!! is some body in the government even reading this?
